Betaine Anhydrous (Trimethylglycine) Food Grade Powder, 1 kilogram
This food grade Betaine Anhydrous (Trimethylglycine) is a bulk powder product consisting of very fine white granular crystals. You will receive a labeled heavy-duty 4 mil polyethylene bag containing 1 kilogram of this bulk powder product. One kilogram is also one thousand grams, or 1000 grams, or approximately 2.205 pounds, or approximately 35.274 ounces by weight. You won't receive the fancy retail packaging, but you will receive a great deal at or below wholesale prices for a high purity bulk quantity of this product.

Betaine Anhydrous, also called Trimethylglycine, or TMG, is an N-trimethylated form of the amino acid Glycine with a chemical structure similar to choline and is produced from sugar beets. I also carry Betaine HCL, which is essentially the same as this Anhydrous Betaine except with an added HCL group. The difference in taste between the Anhydrous and the HCL is tremendous! Whereas the HCL has an extremely sour taste and is highly acidic (often used as a digestive aid), this Anhydrous Betaine has a fairly mild taste that is far less acidic (not suitable as a digestive aid). Betaine Anhydrous will readily dissolve in hot water, but not cold, and has a pleasantly mild, almost sweet, taste. Betaine Anhydrous dietary use includes:

    1. Persons with abnormally high homocysteine levels may find Betaine Anhydrous an effective nutritional treatment (consult your physician before using this product to treat a medical condition).

    2. Betaine Anhydrous may also be an effective mood enhancer in acting as a methyl donor and thereby increasing SAMe levels.

    3. Bodybuilders and performance athletes frequently use Betaine Anhydrous in combination with the amino acids Creatine Mono, Creatine Ethyl Ester, Creatine Ethyl Ester Malate, and especially with Glycocyamine for superior muscle mass gains and including performance enhancements.

    4. Bodybuilders and performance athletes that are Creatine non-responders may find that taking Betaine Anhydrous in addition to Glycocyamine (a non-methylated precursor of the amino acid Creatine) may significantly increase workout related muscle mass gains and including performance enhancements.

    5. Betaine Anhydrous is a common livestock feed additive and is frequently used in the ranching and meat industries in combination with the amino acid L-Lysine to significantly increase livestock muscle mass and marketable yields.

    6. Betaine Anhydrous is believed to play a role in and may be helpful in enhancing the human production of the amino acid Carnitine.

    7. This food grade Betaine Anhydrous is suitable for human consuption and/or animal consumption and has a mildly tart taste but mixes and dissolves readily with hot water.
